The Azores were ranked as one of the top ten summer trips in 2011 by the editors of National Geographic Traveler.
In the write up, they gave a brief descriptions of what make the islands of the Azores great. From the black and white sand beaches, to the flowers that populate the islands and of course the cozido that is cooked by geo-thermic heat. In the article, they show only one photo of the Azores, so below we added a supplemental gallery for you to see why they rank the Azores in the top ten.
