 Today, we embark on an enriching journey from Funchal towards the enchanting village of Camacha, renowned as the heart of traditional cane craftsmanship (vimes). After a brief yet captivating stop to explore this artisanal hub, we continue our ascent to Poiso and then to Pico da Arieiro, Madeira’s second highest peak, offering breathtaking panoramic views.

Our journey then leads us northward to Faial, where we pause for a delightful lunch. We proceed to Santana, where the iconic A-frame houses showcase the region’s unique architectural heritage and cultural essence. As we make our way back to Funchal in the late afternoon, we pass through the charming town of Machico, rounding off a day filled with Madeira’s natural beauty and cultural richness.
