Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival to Faial

Welcome to the stunning island of Faial! After an early morning arrival, we'll whisk you away to Faial by plane. Once settled into your hotel, take the day to unwind. In the evening, join us for a small city tour of Horta, followed by a delectable welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2

Pico

Towering over the island at 7713 ft. Montanha do Pico is Portugal’s highest mountain and at its base you will witness the basaltic landscapes where the vines grow intertwined with the volcanic rocks. Our tour will start in a private winery where we will indulge in a tasting.
Lunch will be served in a local winehouse (Adega). Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the vineyards of Criação Velha, classified as World Heritage by Uncesco, before visiting the Arcos do Cachorro (Dogs Arches) for some breathtaking views of the erosive influence of the ocean waves.

Day 3

Faial

You begin your full day tour discovering the island of Faial by driving through the city of Horta. Horta is most famous for its cosmopolitan yacht harbor. Your next stop is at the scenic point of Espalamaca to view the harbor and all its surroundings, followed by a visit to the Caldeira. The Caldeira is a large crater in the central part of the island where you view the beautiful natural landscape. As you descend to the center of the island, you encounter cattle grazing on hillsides.
Lunch served in local restaurant
In the afternoon we visit the Capelinhos Volcano, where you can explore the landscape created by the volcanic eruption of 1947.
In the evening we will have a family style dinner in a collaboration between the farm owners and our chef.

Day 4

Arrival to Terceira

This afternoon you will make your way back to the airport for a quick flight to the island of Terceira, known as the island of Jesus Christ, as it was settled by Portuguese navigators. Upon arrival and check in to the Hotel.

Dinner will be in a local restaurant with a Fado show.

Day 5

Terceira

Today you will have a full day tour to explore the island of Terceira “The Lilac Island”, that departs for Monte Brazil passing by the beautiful city of Angra do Heroísmo stopping at Pico das Cruzinhas. This is the highest point on Monte Brasil, with a beautiful view of the city and its
outskirts. The tour continues towards the Eastern side of the island, showing the typical settlements and rural architecture colorful “Impérios”.
Lunch will be served in a local restaurant
In the afternoon we visit one of the few remaining visitable volcanos in the world, the Algar do Carvao!
In the evening we will have an Azorean style BBQ prepared by our chef and a local foodie

Day 6

Angra do Heroismo

Walking tour of Angra on Terceira, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. This small town was the Capital of the whole of Portugal for two times and the capital of the Azores for almost one century. You'll pass by key city sites like the 16th century Baroque-era São Gonçalo Convent, the 17th century Palace Bettencourt, and the Se Cathedral of the Azores.

Day 7

São Miguel

Today we fly to São Miguel the biggest island of the archipelago. Upon arrival we check in the hotel.
In the evening our small city tour takes you off the beaten track to get a unique glimpse into the fascinating history of Ponta Delgada.
We visit local businesses and people out of the crowded and touristy areas in our food tour.

Day 8

Full Day Sete Cidades

Today you will be off on our full day tour to Sete Cidades. You begin by making a short visit to a pineapple plantation. There you will see how the pineapple is grown and cultivated, followed by a sampling of the pineapple.
Lunch will be homemade food served in a local farm!
You then proceed to visit the Lagoa and Lagoa de Santiago. After that you make a climb to the Vista do Rei for a panoramic view of the two lakes of Sete Cidades.

Day 9

Full Day Furnas

Today’s journey takes you to the volcanic village of Furnas.
Upon arrival to Furnas lake you will be astonished with the contrast of the peacefulness scenario with the hectic pulsing of the volcanic fumaroles.
You will then head to a local restaurant where you will enjoy a traditional Cozido das Furnas (a meal cooked in sealed pots using the islands hot springs known as fumarolas) and have the chance to indulge in the famous cozido.
In the afternoon we will relax in the themal pools of Terra Nostra Botanical Garden
The day will end with a visit to the Gorreana Tea Factory, where you will learn about the island’s tea industry and the tea production, still operated by 19th century machinery. Enjoy a tasting of the famous green and black tea while admiring the lush plantations and dramatic coastlines.
Our farewell dinner will be prepared by our Chef!

Day 10

Departure

Our final morning in the Azores will be at leisure, before making your way to the airport for the return flight home. We bid adeus to the beautiful Islands and hope that on the flight back you reminisce of the good times that you had on the trip.
