“Third Island”

Terceira’s  countryside compliments the fine historical monuments of its towns.  The island boasts green landscapes and mountain ranges that are great for walks, beyond which you can glimpse flower-dotted fields and the blue of the sea and sky.

On Terceira island you will find a challenging golf course and two marinas that give Terceira a cosmopolitan atmosphere by attracting yachts crossing the Atlantic.  There are plenty of other activities to participate in including, fishing, diving, surfing, windsurfing and sailing.

“Bullfight in the Streets”

One of the more traditional events that takes place on the island of Terceira is the “Tourada a Corda” which translates to bullfighting by rope.  The bull is constrained by a rope while it runs through the city streets being challenged by onlookers.
