Itineraries

Day 1

Date : August 1, 2025

Arrival to Sao Miguel

Welcome to the Island of São Miguel, the largest and most populous island in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. Soothing natural thermal pools, scenic hikes, dramatic coastlines and volcanic landscapes await for you in this secret nature lovers dream.

After arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel and you will have the rest of the day to rest and prepare for your future adventures.

Day 2

Date : August 2, 2025

White Festival

Our walking city tour in Ponta Delgada starts with a visit to the historic Portas da Cidade, followed by a leisurely stroll through the charming cobblestone streets. As you explore the city, you'll pass landmarks such as the Church of São Sebastião and the Convento da Esperança, which offer a glimpse into the rich history and culture of the island.

During the tour, we will meander into the cobblestone streets and stop by traditional markets and restaurants to taste the local delicacies, breads, and cheeses of the island, giving you a flavor of São Miguel’s culinary heritage.

The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace, whether you want to relax at a café, visit shops, or wander through local gardens. Dinner will be served back at the hotel, providing a chance to relax before heading out for the evening.

Later, you’ll join in the lively White Festival, where the streets of Ponta Delgada transform with music, art, and performances. Everyone dresses in white, creating a festive and vibrant atmosphere that lights up the night.

 

Day 3

Date : August 3, 2025

Sete Cidades

In the morning we’ll visit a local farm and during this visit you will have the opportunity to learn about Azorean culture, see how people used to live in the past, get in touch with various farm animals and even milk a cow. During the visit, you will also get to know the different plants and fruits that were the basis of the families’ sustenance.

On the way to Sete Cidades, a village known for its tales and beauty you will have the opportunity to take in the breathtaking view of the main lake, also known as, Blue and Green Lakes with a stop at Vista do Rei (Kings view).

You will enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant.

We return to Ponta Delgada via the southwest coast, you'll enjoy a scenic drive along rugged cliffs and peaceful coastal villages. A brief stop at Miradouro do Escalvado offers stunning panoramic views of the Atlantic and the nearby coastline, a perfect moment to take in the island's natural beauty before continuing your journey back to the city.

Day 5

Date : August 4, 2025

Lagoa do Fogo

The day begins with a free morning for you to relax or explore at your own pace. Afterward, the group will come together for lunch at a local restaurant, offering a chance to enjoy some traditional Azorean cuisine. In the afternoon, the tour continues with a visit to the stunning Lagoa do Fogo, a beautiful crater lake surrounded by lush nature and panoramic views. The next stop is the charming town of Ribeira Grande, known for its historic architecture and vibrant local culture, before returning to the hotel.

Day 6

Date : August 5, 2025

Furnas

We depart to Furnas lake where you will be astonished with the contrast of the peacefulness scenario with the hectic pulsing of the volcanic fumaroles.

You will then head to a local restaurant where you will enjoy a traditional Cozido das Furnas (a meal cooked in sealed pots using the islands hot springs known as fumarolas) and have the chance to indulge in the famous cozido.

In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to relax in the thermal waters of Terra Nostra Botanical Garden

The day will end with a visit to the Gorreana Tea Factory, where you will learn about the island’s tea industry and the tea production, still operated by 19th century machinery. Enjoy a tasting of the famous green and black tea while admiring the lush plantations and dramatic coastlines.

Day 7

Date : August 6, 2025

Leisure Day

Today is a free day to unwind and enjoy Ponta Delgada at your own pace. It’s the perfect time to relax, perhaps by the hotel pool or at a local café, soaking in the island’s laid-back atmosphere. For those looking to explore, take the opportunity for some last-minute shopping in Ponta Delgada’s charming boutiques, where you can find local crafts, souvenirs, or specialty Azorean products.

Day 8

Date : August 7, 2025

Transfer Out

On your departure day, after a heartfelt farewell, the group will come together for a final transfer to the airport. It’s a moment to reflect on the wonderful memories and experiences shared during the trip. As you board the group transfer, there’s time for goodbyes and well wishes, marking the end of a memorable journey on the island. Safe travels!
