Alentejo is one of Portugal's hidden gems. This beautiful, mostly agricultural, region is filled with soft hills that change color along the year, from deep brown to green with white, red and purple, to golden. In this tour, you will visit Évora, a museum-city whose roots go back to Roman times, it reached its golden age in the 15th century, when it became the residence of the Portuguese kings. Its unique quality stems from the whitewashed houses decorated with azulejos and wrought-iron balconies dating from the 16th to the 18th century. Then head to Monsaraz, where you will taste the best olive oil in Portugal, our tour will take you deeper into Portugal as we head to Lisbon, a romantic and vibrant city. From Lisbon you will visit famous historical sites in Sintra and Cascais.

Itineraries

Day 1

Full Day Tour Évora

After checke in, we will visit Evora a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we’ll discover historical landmarks such as the Roman Temple, the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral and the Chapel of Bones. Stroll the streets and alleys of the city full of local handicraft shops that keep the tradition alive.

Day 2

Full Day Tour Monsaraz

Here you will also enjoy a trip back in time as you wander through the historic medieval town of Monsaraz and visit the various archaeological testimonies of megalithic monuments throughout the municipality.

We will have also time to visit to Herdade do Esporão to the olive oil section. Olive oil tasting.
Visit to Medieval village of Monsaraz where you will see the picturesque and traditional homes of the hospitable people of this land. Finding Monsaraz is traveling through time and enjoying history in the present. And there is so much to see and feel in this charming Time Machine, right in the heart of Alentejo! After lunch visit to private winery.

Day 3

Full Day Estremoz and Vila Viçosa

In the morning we visit a cork factory, so you can learn about one of the most important industries of Portugal.

Visit Evoramonte a little fortified village which takes up a visible site on the top of a hill in Alentejo, 13 kilometres Southwest from Estremoz, in the Alto Alentejo, Portugal. It’s Medieval centre is settled in a mound and was walled by Dom Dinis in the year 1306

We make our way to Estremoz, one of the “white cities” in Alentejo. You can recognise it from far away for its white houses, spread across a hill. They are embraced by old walls and protected by the impressive donjon. After Estremoz we go to Borba to have lunch and some wine tastings
In the afternoon we visit Vila Viçosa known as the “Princess of Alentejo” . Although small, this is one of the most precious and charming jewels of Alentejo. The village is truly an open-air museum

Day 4

Transfer to Lisbon

Check out and transfer to Lisbon. On the way we visit Castelo de Palmela and Cristo Rei.

Day 5

Full Day Sintra and Cascais

Today you will be visiting the idyllic town of Sintra. Here, you will be able to visit the famous historical sites, like Quinta da Regaleira, a 19th Garden, where you’ll explore it’s hidden cave passageways, secretive spiral stairs leading down to symbolic wells.

After lunch, you will explore the Coast of the sunny town of Cascais.

Day 6

Leisure Day

Day 7

Departure

After checking out, you will be transferred to the airport from your hotel for the return flight home. You bid adeus to Portugal and reminisce on the flight back of the good times that you had on the trip.
