Evening departure aboard Azores Airlines for our transatlantic overnight flight to Funchal via Ponta Delgada. Dinner will be served on board accompanied by a selection of Portuguese wines to complement your meal.

Day 2

Morning arrival at Madeira’s Airport

Morning arrival at Madeira’s Airport. After clearing customs, you will be transferred to the five stars Hotel Pestana Casino. You will have the rest of the day to relax and explore. We meet in the evening for a welcome dinner. (D)

Full-day tour of the Western part of Funchal

Today is your full-day tour of the Western part of the island of Funchal. You will begin by taking the Estrada Monumental to Camara de Lobos; then cross the island in a south to north direction passing along the steep coastline until you arrive in Porto Moniz, there you will be served lunch.
On your return to Funchal, you will pass through Sao Roque do Faial, Ribeiro Frio, and Terreiro da Luta before arriving at your hotel in the early evening. (B, L)

Today is a full-day tour of Santana with lunch in a typical restaurant

Today we are going to is your full-day tour of Santana with lunch in a typical restaurant. Santana is characterized by small thatched triangular houses and is a beautiful village on the north coast.
These small houses built of natural stone and thatched with straw have served the locals for centuries as stables and dwellings. You head off for the cultural village of Camacha, where you visit the wicker works factory. (B, L)

A tour of the botanical gardens

In the morning we head towards the northern part of the city for a tour of the botanical gardens.
This evening a Madeira style dinner of “Carne de Espeto” will be served and you will be entertained by a local folklore group. On the return to your hotel, you can see the magical effect that the lights create upon the harbor of Funchal. (B, D)

In the morning you have time to rest and relax

In the morning you have time to rest and relax. After checking out of the hotel, we are transferred to the airport for our flight to Lisbon. Once in Lisbon, we check into our hotel, followed by dinner in the evening. (B, D)

A full-day tour, exploring Estoril coast and much more

Today you will have a full-day tour, exploring Estoril coast and Cascais, visiting Guincho beach and Cabo da Roca, Europe’s most western point, stopping at the National Palace of Sintra. You will also see the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. During your tour, you will stop at a restaurant for lunch. (B, L)

Today we head north visiting the historical landmark of Obidos

The day will begin by heading north visiting the historical landmark of Obidos, a town known for its medieval castle. For lunch, you will stop at the fishing village of Nazare. Following lunch, you will return to Lisbon. Later in the evening, we meet for dinner, at a fado house. (B, L, D)

this afternoon you will head to Fatima and more!

In the afternoon you will head to Fatima, where you will get the chance to visit the village before heading to dinner.
Following dinner, you will be on your own to visit the sanctuary, churches, and chapel as well as participate in the candlelight vigil. head back to Lisbon in the late evening. (B, L)

Today lunchtime in or around Fatima

In the morning, you will depart the hotel in direction to Fatima where we will attend mass and for the final ceremonies. Afterward, its lunchtime in or around Fatima, before returning to the hotel. (B, L)

Today a quick flight to the Azores, and Ponta Delgada

After checkout, you will be transferred to the airport, for our quick flight to the Azores. Once in Ponta Delgada, you will be transferred to our hotel, where the rest of the evening is at your leisure. (B)

Day 12

Today you will be off to our full-day tour of Sete Cidades and more!

Today you will be off to our full-day tour of Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo, beginning by making a short visit to a pineapple plantation. There you will see how the pineapple is cultivated, followed by a sampling of the pineapple liquor. Then, you are going to visit the Lagoa dos Canarios and Lagoa de Santiago. After that, you will make a climb to the famous “Vista do Rei” for a panoramic view of the two lakes of Sete Cidades. A typical lunch will then be served. After lunch, you head to the Lagoa do Fogo, making stops in Ribeira Grande and Caldeira Velha. At the top of Lagoa do Fogo you are going to be able to see both the north and south coast of S. Miguel.
Later in the evening, you will head to the “Solar da Graca” restaurant, where dinner will be served, followed by an Azorean folkloric dancing show. (B.L.D)

Today the city of Ponta Delgada becomes alive with activities.

Today the city of Ponta Delgada becomes alive with activities. In the afternoon, there will be a procession of Senhor Santo Cristo around the Campo de Sao Francisco.
In the evening the statue of Senhor Santo Cristo will be relocated from the Igreja da Esperanca to Igreja de Sao Jose, the festivities will continue late into the night. (B)

Morning the streets of Ponta Delgada- and more!

In the morning the streets of Ponta Delgada become decorated with greens and flowers for the afternoon procession. At 4 p.m, the procession begins in front of the Convento da Esperanca, continuing throughout the streets of Ponta Delgada returning to the Convento da Esperanca in the early evening. Dinner will be served at 8 p.m at hotel Talisman. (B.D.)

Date : May 18, 2020

Today you will have a full-day tour!

Today you will have a full-day tour. You will begin the day by traveling along the southern coast heading toward Vila Franca, where we will stop to sample some “Queijadas da Vila”.
You will also stop at the pottery factory in Lagoa, followed by stops at scenic points along the coast. Then you head towards the Lagoa das Furnas to view the geothermic ovens that cook the traditional cozido, afterward you head towards the village of Furnas where lunch will be served.
After lunch, you will walk around the village to view the “Caldeiras”, then depart the village and make our way north stopping at the scenic points of “Pico do Ferro”, “Salto do Cavalo” and Ribeira dos Caldeiroes in Nordeste.
On our return to Ponta Delgada, there is a stop at the Gorreana Tea Plantation, one of the oldest tea plantations in Europe and you will be able to sample their teas. (B, L)
