Upon landing at Venice Airport, meet our tour manager, transfer to Venice and check-in at our hotel.

Day 3

Venice

Today we explore the romantic lagoon city of Venice, built on 118 islands, which are connected by more than 400

bridges. During our morning walking tour our guide will bring this remarkable city to life as we discover St. Mark’s

Square with the Byzantine St. Mark’s Basilica, the lavish Doge’s Palace, and the famous Bridge of Sighs nearby. We

meander through the Venice of the Venetians along narrow streets, away from the tourist hordes. Venice never

loses its ability to enchant visitors. In the afternoon, we can dive into the history of this romantic city on our own,

off the typical tourist tracks, and explore cobblestone alleyways, marveling at the wonderful attractions or shopping for unique crafts and souvenirs, or simply for a stunning view of the city, we can head to the Ponte dell’Accademia and look out along the Grand Canal.

Day 4

Transfer to Florence by rail

This morning, we check-out of our hotel, and transfer to Venice train station. The easiest and fastest way to reach

Florence is by train, and in just 2h30m we are already in Tuscany! The rest of the day is at leisure for us to admire

this stunning birthplace of the Renaissance at our own pace.

Day 5

Florence walking tour and wine tasting with light lunch in the Chianti area

A guided city walking tour is on the program today. This art and cultural metropolis are a must for all travelers

to Tuscany. Florence’s Cathedral or Duomo dominates the cityscape and together with the Campanile and Baptistery forms one of the most magnificent works of art that can be admired on earth. Florence offers so many unique experiences it will create memories, which will live with you forever. We will also visit the countryside of Tuscany, taking a bus for a panoramic tour and then stopping at a farmhouse where you will taste typical wines and products.

Day 6

Transfer to Rome by rail

This morning transfer to Rome by rail in a journey lasting less than 90 minutes and transfer by coach from the rail

station to your hotel. After checking in at your hotel, the afternoon is at leisure. In the evening, we join a Rome “by night” tour of the city. Rome with its beauty illuminated seems somehow even more magical at night. Our tour includes many of the main “musts”: from the obelisk in Piazza dell’ Esquilino; the elegant, historic hotels and cafés frequented by the Cinecittà celebrities in the 1960s as they lived la Dolce Vita in Via Veneto; Barberini Square with its Bernini fountains; Quirinal Square which affords views of the presidential residence; St. Peter’s Basilica; Castel Sant’Angelo; and Piazza Venezia with its monument to the first king of united Italy, Victor Emmanuel II. The Eternal city is brimming with impressive sites that are awesome during the day and breath taking at night.

Day 7

Rome leisure day

Free day to explore the Italian Capital.

Day 8

Ancient Rome & the Vatican City

After breakfast, we enjoy a visit to the Vatican Museum. Since the collections are so extensive, a few targeted exhibits will be chosen from the overwhelming selection to be viewed and explained during the tour. The Raphael Rooms and the world-famous Sistine Chapel are also included. Afterwards we visit St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the Christian world and see Michelangelo’s exquisite sculpture, the Pietà. In the afternoon, our tour continues with an insight into Ancient Rome, as we journey back to the time of the gladiators and wander through the ruins of Imperial Rome. TICKETS EXTRA Our ‘journey through antiquity’ begins on Capitoline Hill. We see the remains of the great Roman era up close, before ascending Palatine Hill, to admire the ruins of the imperial palace complex. Next port of call is the incredible Colosseum, before returning to the Piazza Venezia at the foot of Capitoline Hill.
